The Campus School of Carlow University is a unique learning environment with a rich history of academic achievement. The Campus School is a caring community of spirited learners and dedicated educators. Our emphasis is on academic excellence, coupled with strong spiritual values and the development of social responsibility. The holistic approach of our program provides opportunities for rigorous academic development, fosters creativity, encourages appreciation for athletic endeavors, and provides opportunities to be of service to others.
We are an independent, coeducational Catholic day school for Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight with an additional Montessori preschool program. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1963, our heritage can be traced back to1844 when the Sisters opened Our Lady of Mercy Academy in Pittsburgh. Our location on the campus of Carlow University allows our students to profit from the resources of the University. Our students swim in the University pool, dine in the University cafeteria, conduct research in the University Library, perform on the University’s two auditorium stages, and even shoot hoops in the University gym. Our faculty shares a working environment with dedicated professors who offer our teachers innovative professional development opportunities and are a unique resource for both faculty and students. The Sisters of Mercy Mother House is also situated on campus and provides a source of inspiration and partnering in developing the spiritual values of our students. We truly are a unique learning environment.
Our excellent teachers, together with our small class size, and strong curriculum provides collaborative learning opportunities, promotes hands-on learning activities, and fosters critical thinking skills that develop confident learners. Each child is recognized for their individual talents and encouraged to reach their fullest potential. We pride ourselves in graduating life long learners.
