    Continuous Enrollment Contract FAQ

    What is re-enrollment?

Re-enrollment is an annual data collection process that schools use to update enrollment records of the current student body. This information is used as the school makes plans for the following school year. Basically, the simple question is: “Are you coming back to school next year?”  In order to plan for the upcoming school year, CLS needs to know how many students we will have on the first day of school.

Why Does Re-Enrollment Matter? And why do we go through this every year?

CLS leadership does a lot of planning to ensure that we’re prepared to fulfill our mission every year. Until CLS families “sign on the line” that they’re coming back each year, we can’t solidify plans for staffing, programs, materials, curriculum and facility usage. We want to invest tuition dollars wisely to provide the best education possible for our students.

I have no plans to change schools- and almost everybody comes back every year anyway. Can’t I just stay at CLS until I notify the school otherwise?

Up until this point, re-enrollment has been an “opt-in” program. We annually ask every family, “Are you coming back?”  In a sense, we’ve been penalizing the vast majority of families by forcing everyone to go through this process every year.

Rather than an opt-IN annual re-enrollment process, CLS’s annual re-enrollment will become an opt-OUT process. In other words, if you’re coming back after signing your “Continuous Enrollment Contract,” you’ll never have to worry about signing a contract again!

So after this year, what will the “Re-enrollment Season” Look Like?

Once all of our families are on the “Continuous Enrollment Program,” the typical re-enrollment season (January and February) will simply be a communication reminder from the Enrollment Office informing the families that might be thinking about leaving our school to notify us prior to February 14th.  Families will be notified of any upcoming changes to the tuition rate before the February 14th deadline.

What’s the penalty if I break this contract?

    • There are no financial penalties for families choosing not to return before the Feb. 14th deadline.
    • Written withdrawal and cancellation received by the Admission Office between Feb 15 and March 31 will owe 20% of the following year’s tuition.
    • Written withdrawal and cancellation received by the Admission Office between April 1 -June 30 will owe 50% of the following year’s tuition.
    • Written withdrawal and cancellation received by the Admission Office on or after July 1 will owe 100% of the following year’s tuition.

But what about unique circumstances? I’m planning on keeping my kids at CLS until 8
th grade, but what if something dramatically changes?

We understand that sometimes life throws curveballs. For major life changes/unique circumstances such as relocation from the area (moving 25+ miles away from our school), or any unforeseen circumstance that our administrative team approves, there will be no financial penalty.  In order to be considered for this, you will need to contact Alexis Shaffer requesting consideration.  This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

When will this take place this year?

2022-2023 Contracts are due by March  31, 2022. After this contract, you will be following the continuous enrollment process detailed above.  We look forward to serving CLS families in this way and making the process even more convenient!  There is no penalty for signing late this year, although you will not be guaranteed your financial aid or enrollment spot after this date for any grade level with a waiting list.  We will always welcome families back to CLS when our classrooms can accommodate additional students.  However, a reapplication process may be required.

What do I get out of this?

    • Simplicity.
    • Guaranteed placement.

If you decide to withdraw, your child’s spot will be given to another student.  We will always welcome families back to CLS when our classrooms can accommodate additional students.  However, a reapplication process may be required.

Ok. Great! How do I sign up for this?

The CLS Enrollment Office will send you a personalized E-mail with easy step-by-step instructions through the process. The process should take you 5-10 minutes to complete. You  have until March 31st, 2022 to complete and return your contract.

What if our family gets financial aid and I have questions about the process?
